Dont Waste Your Life living Someone Elses life
Steve Jobs - Connecting the Dots:
adapted from brien
* You can't connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. Because believing that the dots will connect down the road, will give you confidence to follow your heart, even when it leads you off the well worn paths... and that will make all the difference.
* You've got to find what you love. And that is true to work and as for lovers. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking and don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. So keep looking, don't settle.
* Death is a destination we all share. Your time is limited, so don't waste your time living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma, which is living the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others opinion drown out your own inner voice.
* And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.
An Exercise
1.Create a list of things people have told you that you can't do.
2. On another piece of paper and Title it: "I won't waste my time living someone else's life. I won't let the noise of others opinion drown out my inner voice."
3. Write the Positive (opposite) of what people have told you that you can't do. (eg: people said: "You'l always be poor". Write: "I am rich".)
4. Place the Positive list inside of a picture frame, behind your own picture. This will trigger your subconscious each time you look at the picture
5. Grab the Negative list, focus all your attention to it and burn it. (this will be an anchor to your subconscious symbolizing the end of negative opinions in your subconscious)
The picture and the burning (flames) are psychological anchors that you just created. Our brain works by associations. Every picture or photo (framed) you see will trigger your subconscious about positive things you are capable of.
And each time you see flames (burning), it will trigger your subconscious of the negative associations to burn away and be released. You have and kept the positive list, but the negative list is nowhere in your possession. Your subconscious retains positivity and releases negativity.
Perform this task several times. Use it for your goals and ambitions, with your affirmations, changing negative habits etc. Depending on the picture, your subconscious will link it to that person, place or pet.
